Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Laundry Assistant to join our care home team. You will help ensure all residents’ clothing, bedding, and linen are cleaned, handled, and returned to a high standard, while maintaining dignity, hygiene, and infection control.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, sort, wash, dry, and fold residents’ laundry and linen
- Ensure all items are correctly labelled and returned to the right resident
- Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and hygienic laundry area at all times
- Follow infection control, COSHH, and health & safety procedures
- Report any damaged or missing items
- Work with care staff to ensure timely laundry service
- Maintain stock levels of laundry supplies
Requirements
- Previous laundry or care experience is desirable but not essential
- Good attention to detail and organisation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of hygiene standards (training provided)
- Caring, respectful, and patient attitude
Working Hours
- 20–30 hours per week
- Shifts: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (flexible)
