Role Overview
As a Care Assistant, you will support clients with their daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and wellbeing at all times. You will work closely with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to deliver consistent and person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support mobility and movement, ensuring safety at all times
- Help with meal preparation and feeding when required
- Follow individual care plans to meet specific needs
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in condition
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Provide medication reminders and basic health monitoring where appropriate
- Assist with light domestic duties such as laundry and cleaning
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities when required
Requirements
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential (full training provided)
- Valid UK driving licence and confidence driving clients when needed
- Ability to follow care plans and instructions accurately
- Good written and spoken English
- Basic IT skills for record-keeping and documentation
- Strong communication skills with a caring and empathetic approach
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- A compassionate nature and genuine commitment to supporting others
