Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our logistics team. This role involves a wide range of warehouse duties to support smooth day-to-day operations while maintaining a safe, organised, and efficient working environment. This is a paid position, ideal for individuals with warehouse experience who enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, including forklifts
- Pick, pack, and accurately stock products to maintain correct inventory levels
- Operate warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 for inventory control and order processing
- Assist with shipping and receiving to ensure timely dispatch and delivery of goods
- Carry out materials handling tasks, including safe lifting of heavy items
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the warehouse, following all health and safety procedures
- Perform basic mechanical tasks, including minor equipment maintenance or troubleshooting
- Support construction or refurbishment tasks within the warehouse when required
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment
- Forklift operation experience and strong knowledge of safety procedures
- Familiarity with WMS and AS400 systems
- Strong manual handling skills and physical stamina
- Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment maintenance is an advantage
- Experience with stock control, picking and packing, and shipping and receiving
- Knowledge of warehouse construction or refurbishment activities is beneficial
- Ability to work efficiently in a physically demanding role with a strong focus on safety
