About the Role
At Akari Care, we are dedicated to creating a warm, respectful, and supportive environment where residents receive personalised care and attention. We are currently looking for a compassionate and reliable Laundry Assistant to join our award-winning care home team.
Working closely with the Housekeeper and domestic staff, you will help ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the laundry service within the home. Your role will involve caring for residents’ clothing and personal items with dignity, attention, and respect while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and manage daily laundry duties efficiently
- Wash, dry, fold, and organise residents’ clothing and linen
- Carry out minor clothing repairs when required
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe laundry environment
- Ensure laundry equipment is cleaned and well maintained
- Support colleagues in maintaining high hygiene standards
- Deliver a personalised service that respects residents’ cultural and religious needs
- Provide compassionate support to residents when needed
