About the Role
Co-op Academy Delius is seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to help maintain a safe, clean, secure, and welcoming environment across our school sites.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous caretaking or site management experience and strong practical DIY skills to become part of a supportive and dedicated school community.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day upkeep and operation of the academy, ensuring high standards of maintenance, health and safety, cleanliness, and security are consistently maintained.
Main Responsibilities
- Opening and securing the school premises as a designated key holder
- Carrying out general caretaking and site maintenance duties
- Performing minor repairs, decorating, and DIY tasks
- Supporting cleaning operations and monitoring cleaning standards
- Managing grounds maintenance and site presentation
- Assisting with health & safety compliance, COSHH, and risk assessments
- Responding to site incidents and maintenance issues promptly
- Liaising with contractors and external service providers
- Ordering hygiene and maintenance supplies when required
You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and wider staff to ensure the academy remains a safe and effective learning environment for all pupils and staff.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- COSHH qualification
- Current First Aid qualification
- Facilities Management or Health & Safety qualification
- Previous caretaking, site management, or maintenance experience

Co-op Academy Delius is a highly supportive specialist academy for pupils aged 2–11 with complex educational and medical needs.
The academy operates across two sites in Bradford (BD3 and BD7), both located approximately 10 minutes from Bradford city centre. Successful candidates may be required to work across both locations following an induction period.
