About the Role
We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and customer-focused Coffee Shop Assistant to join our busy and welcoming team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service.
Previous barista experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided to the successful candidate. You will play an important role in ensuring customers enjoy a positive experience while helping maintain the smooth day-to-day operation of the coffee shop.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a range of coffee, tea, and specialty beverages in line with company standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with orders and enquiries.
- Support food preparation, including sandwiches, salads, snacks, and other menu items.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming environment throughout the coffee shop.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations at all times.
- Operate the cash register accurately, handling payments and providing correct change.
- Replenish stock, supplies, and ingredients to ensure efficient service.
- Assist team members during busy periods to ensure prompt and friendly customer service.
- Contribute to a positive team environment and uphold high service standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a coffee shop, café, barista, or food service role is desirable but not required.
- Understanding of food hygiene and food safety practices is an advantage.
- Good numerical skills and confidence handling cash transactions.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a busy customer-facing environment.
