About the Role
We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our busy kitchen team. This role is essential in ensuring the kitchen remains clean, organised, and fully prepared to support daily food service.
As a Kitchen Porter, you will assist with cleaning duties, maintaining kitchen equipment, organising deliveries, and supporting chefs with basic food preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitise kitchen worktops, walls, ovens, grills, sinks, and cooking areas.
- Complete end-of-day kitchen cleaning to ensure the kitchen is ready for the next shift.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment using sinks or commercial dishwashers.
- Keep refrigerators, freezers, and food storage areas clean and organised.
- Receive deliveries and store food and supplies correctly.
- Dispose of kitchen waste safely and maintain clean waste disposal areas.
- Clean and maintain cooking equipment, including mixers, cookers, and preparation tools.
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation, such as washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients.
- Support chefs and kitchen staff during busy service periods.
- Follow food hygiene, health, and safety regulations at all times.
Requirements
- Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is an advantage but not essential.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong work ethic and attention to cleanliness.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and physically able to carry out kitchen duties.
- Willingness to learn and support the wider kitchen team.
