Pay: £12.71 per hour
Shifts: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM), plus annual leave cover.
About the Role
Advantage Healthcare, part of CCH Group, is looking for a compassionate and reliable Care Assistant to support a young child with complex medical and physical needs in their family home.
The child has a neurological condition, epilepsy, and a neuromuscular condition that affects mobility. They are unable to walk independently and require full assistance with transfers, positioning, and daily care.
As a Care Assistant, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support while helping the child enjoy everyday activities, attend school, and participate in family life. The child is sociable, enjoys sensory and water-based play, outdoor activities, and spending time with siblings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and person-centred care.
- Assist with PEG feeding, including administering feeds and medication.
- Perform airway management, including suctioning, deep suctioning, and chest physiotherapy.
- Monitor and respond appropriately to seizures.
- Support with transfers, repositioning, and personal care.
- Assist the child in attending school and participating in daily activities.
- Maintain accurate and timely care records.
- Promote dignity, independence, choice, and wellbeing at all times.
Skills and Experience
Essential experience includes:
- PEG feeding.
- Suctioning and airway management.
- Medication administration.
- Supporting individuals with epilepsy and managing seizures.
- Previous experience in complex care.
