About the Role
Bromley Trust Academy – Midfield Campus is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team in Orpington.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people. You will support primary-age pupils who experience social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, helping them develop confidence, overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide classroom and individual support to primary-age pupils
- Help pupils develop confidence, self-esteem and positive learning habits
- Support pupils who experience social, emotional and behavioural challenges
- Provide guidance and encouragement to help overcome barriers to learning
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment
- Build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
- Use restorative approaches to support positive behaviour
- Participate in relevant training, including positive handling training
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- A good standard of education to Level 2 or equivalent
- Good English and Maths skills
- Experience providing support, guidance or information to people from diverse backgrounds
- Patience, sensitivity and tact
- A positive attitude and a good sense of humour
- The ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations
- Willingness to use restorative practices and complete positive handling training
- A genuine interest in helping young people succeed
