🕒 Hours: Minimum 35 hours per week over 5 days (including weekends, 9:30am – 4:30pm)
💷 Pay: £16.00 per hour (package negotiable depending on experience)
About the Role
Y Caffi at Greenfield Valley is seeking a confident, enthusiastic, and hands-on Cafe Supervisor to help lead our community-focused café. You will play a vital role in delivering a warm and welcoming experience for visitors while ensuring the café operates smoothly on a day-to-day basis.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in hospitality or customer service who enjoys leading by example and is passionate about great food, great service, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and support the café team to deliver excellent customer service
- Assist with staff induction, training, supervision, and performance appraisals
- Prepare and manage staff rotas, ensuring effective use of hours and budgets
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of light menu items to a high standard
- Manage profit and loss responsibilities
- Maintain high standards of customer care, presentation, and communication
- Ensure compliance with Food Hygiene, Health & Safety, COSHH, and fire regulations
- Monitor stock levels and ensure consistent quality of food and drink service
- Ensure correct use of the EPOS system and accurate record-keeping
- Follow cash-handling and purchasing procedures
- Act as the main point of contact for customer queries and feedback during shifts
- Support marketing, promotions, and event-related café activities
- Work collaboratively with CIC Directors, Visitor Centre staff, council teams, and partners
About You
You will be someone who:
- Has experience in hospitality, retail, or customer service
- Enjoys leading and developing a team
- Remains calm, professional, and friendly during busy periods
- Communicates clearly and contributes positively to team discussions
- Understands food hygiene and health & safety, or is willing to learn
- Is organised, reliable, and comfortable taking responsibility
- Takes pride in creating a welcoming and well-run café environment
