About Birmingham Hospice
At Birmingham Hospice, we make every moment matter for people living with life-limiting conditions and for those who care for them. We are now seeking a compassionate and reliable Housekeeping Assistant to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.
Working Hours
- Wednesday & Thursday: 1:00pm – 6:00pm
- Weekend shifts (alternating weeks):
- Week 1: Saturday & Sunday, 8:00am – 1:00pm
- Week 2: Saturday & Sunday, 1:00pm – 6:00pm
Weekend availability is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the hospice
- Support infection prevention and control procedures
- Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for patients and visitors
- Work closely with the Facilities and Housekeeping teams
- Complete cleaning schedules and maintain accurate records
- Follow health & safety procedures, including COSHH and manual handling
- Provide cover for colleagues when required
About You
- A good standard of education
- Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic understanding of health & safety procedures
- Reliable, flexible, and able to work every weekend
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
