Job Overview
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our busy kitchen team in Bath. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with food, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants to develop their skills within the culinary industry. You’ll support chefs and kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food quality, safety, and cleanliness are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation including chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients
- Prepare food in line with recipes and food safety standards
- Maintain a clean, organised kitchen, including dishwashing and surface sanitising
- Support chefs during service with ingredient prep and plating
- Follow food hygiene and safe handling procedures
- Help manage stock, receive deliveries, and store supplies correctly
- Assist with catering and food service events when required
Requirements
- Previous kitchen or restaurant experience preferred
- Basic knife skills and a willingness to learn
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive, reliable attitude
- Experience in catering or food service is an advantage but not essential
