The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Warehouse Supervisor to lead our warehouse operations at our Shepperton store. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to progress into a senior role within a fast-paced warehouse and logistics environment.
You will be responsible for supervising daily warehouse activities, leading and motivating the team, ensuring safe and efficient operations, and supporting wider store functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process deliveries, reporting any discrepancies
- Safely stow and store goods while maximising available storage space
- Pick and prepare orders for customer deliveries and collections
- Organise and manage inter-store transfers
- Carry out warehouse inventory controls as required
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Oversee the compost and stoneware departments
- Ensure all warehouse, compost, and stoneware areas comply with health and safety standards
- Produce staff rotas for the Warehouse, Transport, and Internet departments
- Organise and manage the transport team and support route planning
- Ensure all machinery is maintained and compliant with legal regulations
- Communicate effectively with all trading departments
- Assist in other areas of the Garden Centre when required
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
- Valid Forklift Licence
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.)
- Strong organisational and communication skills
Desirable:
- Previous warehouse or logistics experience
- Experience supervising warehouse operations
- Good customer service skills
- A positive, enthusiastic, and approachable attitude
- Willingness to learn and develop within the role
