About the Role
Bikanervala, a well-known and respected Indian restaurant brand, is currently hiring a Kitchen Helper for its Chinese Section in Hounslow. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about food, enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, and want to gain hands-on experience in the hospitality industry.
As a Kitchen Helper, you will support chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations, high hygiene standards, and efficient food preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation, including chopping vegetables and measuring ingredients
- Support dish preparation and plating during service
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils promptly
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards at all times
- Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces in line with food safety regulations
- Help restock kitchen supplies and report shortages to supervisors
- Deliver prepared food to service areas when required
- Follow all health, safety, and hygiene procedures
Skills & Experience
- Basic food preparation knowledge (preferred but not required – training provided)
- Ability to multitask and stay organised in a busy kitchen
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Previous kitchen or food service experience is an advantage but not essential
