Pay: £12.60 – £12.84 per hour
Hours: 25 hours/week (rotating over 5 days, including weekends & bank holidays)

About the Role
Join St Michael’s Hospice, a top 100 UK not-for-profit organisation, as a Retail Assistant. Help support our mission while working in a friendly, supportive environment. You’ll be involved in daily retail activities, ensuring smooth operations, maximising sales, and delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve and assist customers with professionalism and care
- Maximise sales opportunities and maintain attractive merchandise displays
- Accept, sort, price, and manage donated goods
- Operate cash registers and handle transactions accurately
- Maintain cleanliness, health & safety standards, and GDPR compliance
- Work alongside volunteers and staff, providing guidance as needed
- Participate in stock-taking, recycling, and waste management
- Occasionally cover site responsibilities in the absence of the Retail Manager
Who We’re Looking For
- Experience in retail, ideally in the charity sector
- Knowledge of Health & Safety, Manual Handling, and Trading Standards
- Strong customer service and teamwork skills
- Reliability, organisation, and attention to detail
- Comfortable handling stock and occasional challenging situations
