About the Role
We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, and fun-loving Personal Care Assistant to support a 30-year-old man living in Shepton Mallet.
He is autistic and has ADHD. He is independent with personal care and mobility, and enjoys an active lifestyle including the gym, swimming, cycling, dancing, badminton, shopping trips, and countryside walks.
The role focuses on companionship, social engagement, and supporting daily living activities in a positive and encouraging environment.
Experience with autism is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Social Support:
- Engage in enjoyable, age-appropriate activities at home and in the community
- Plan and accompany him on outings using his Motability electric car (gym, swimming, shopping, walks, etc.)
Daily Living Support:
- Prepare meals
- Assist with day-to-day household activities
- Monitor general wellbeing
- Carry out light domestic cleaning
Requirements
- UK driving licence (required)
- Must be over 21 (insurance requirement for Motability vehicle)
- Willing to complete an enhanced DBS check (provided free)
- Non-smoker preferred or willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
- Able to complete a DVLA licence check
