Job Purpose
The Laundry Assistant is responsible for managing clients’ laundry needs and ensuring that all clothing and linens are cleaned, maintained, and presented to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily laundry operations to ensure smooth workflow and prevent backlog.
- Sort and organize laundry bundles for washing and drying.
- Load and unload washing machines and dryers as required.
- Ensure adequate supplies of detergent and fabric conditioner are available.
- Maintain laundry equipment and perform daily cleaning of dryer filters, reporting any faults to the supervisor.
- Follow correct procedures for handling soiled or infectious linen using appropriate laundry bags.
- Sort and allocate clean clothes to designated cubby holes.
- Deliver clean clothing to clients’ rooms.
- Ensure all client clothing is properly labeled and marked.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the laundry room.
- Keep clients’ wardrobes clean and organized.
- Iron clothing when required.
- Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by management.
