About the Role
We’re looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Coffee Shop Assistant to join our vibrant café team. In this role, you’ll help create a welcoming environment for customers while preparing and serving a variety of drinks and food items. This is a great opportunity to build your skills in a busy, customer-focused café. Previous experience in hospitality, catering, or as a barista is a bonus, and knowledge of food safety is valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks
- Assist with food preparation and presentation, following health and safety standards
- Serve customers efficiently at the counter or via table service, ensuring a friendly experience
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, dining areas, and equipment in line with food safety regulations
- Handle cash transactions accurately and operate the till system efficiently
- Restock supplies to keep daily operations running smoothly
- Offer friendly advice on menu items and promote special offers or new products
- Support catering functions and event setups when needed
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in hospitality, catering, or serving roles preferred
- Barista experience is highly desirable
- Understanding of food safety standards and procedures
- Excellent communication skills and a welcoming attitude
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Flexibility to work during busy periods, including weekends
- Positive, enthusiastic, and eager to learn
