About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to lead one of two cross-trained teams in our hybrid fulfilment centre. You’ll oversee a team of 40 operatives, balancing high-density automated storage (AutoStore) with traditional manual processes, ensuring smooth operations from Goods In to Returns.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence
- Manage end-to-end warehouse workflow: Goods Receipt, Put-away, Picking, Dispatch, and Returns
- Monitor AutoStore and manual processes to maintain peak efficiency
Team Leadership & Development
- Implement a cross-training program to ensure team proficiency across all warehouse functions
- Set KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and maintain high morale
- Provide leadership coverage during absence of Head of Warehouse or co-Warehouse Manager
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Lead cycle counts and investigate stock discrepancies
- Ensure 100% adherence to health, safety, and ISO standards (ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001)
- Oversee returns processing and inventory reintegration
Skills & Experience Required:
- 3+ years in warehouse management, preferably in automated or e-commerce environments
- Knowledge of WMS and AutoStore or similar systems
- Proven ability to manage 30–50 staff in a fast-paced setting
- Strong analytical skills to optimize labour, throughput, and accuracy
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team development abilities
- Comfortable switching between data-driven oversight and hands-on problem-solving
Success in this Role:
- Meet or exceed daily units-per-hour (UPH) targets
- Maintain shipping accuracy >99.9%
- Ensure zero lost-time injuries (LTIs)
- Foster a team that adapts seamlessly to volume fluctuations
