About the Role
Serco is seeking a motivated and experienced Shop Assistant to join the team at Gatwick Immigration Removal Centre. This role is responsible for delivering an efficient and reliable retail service to residents, staff, and dependent children while ensuring excellent customer service standards are maintained.
The successful candidate will manage stock levels, support ordering processes, maintain accurate sales and purchase records, and ensure all stock is stored securely to minimise loss and waste. The role also involves using computer-based retail systems and working closely with suppliers and internal departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a professional and efficient shop service
- Monitor and maintain stock control systems
- Participate in ordering and replenishment processes
- Keep accurate sales and purchase records
- Operate retail software systems effectively
- Ensure stock is stored safely and securely
- Liaise with suppliers and other departments when required
- Deliver excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
