An exciting opportunity is available for a Catering Assistant to join the retail catering team at a busy NHS hospital in Wigan. This part-time role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment while helping provide quality food services to patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and meal service.
- Maintain cleanliness in kitchens, dining areas, and retail outlets.
- Serve food to patients, staff, and visitors.
- Monitor stock levels, rotate products, and check expiry dates.
- Complete food safety and hygiene records.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely after training.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures.
- Support colleagues and provide cover when required.
Requirements
- Ability to work efficiently as part of a busy team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, organised, and willing to learn.
- Understanding of food hygiene standards is an advantage.
- Flexibility to provide additional cover when needed.
