Lifeguard
Reports to: Swimming Co-Ordinator and Health & Fitness Manager
Role Overview
As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all pool users while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and customer service throughout the pool and spa facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain constant vigilance of the pool areas and proactively identify and prevent potential incidents.
- Carry out regular safety inspections of indoor and outdoor spa areas.
- Ensure all pool and spa facilities comply with health and safety regulations.
- Enforce pool rules and safety procedures to minimise risks and promote safe behaviour.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, including providing first aid and CPR in accordance with RLSS standards.
- Complete safety checks, incident reports, daily records, and other administrative duties accurately.
- Provide friendly, professional, and helpful customer service to all visitors.
- Maintain a valid RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) and complete required refresher training.
- Support the cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation of all wet-side facilities.
- Work effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth operations, particularly during busy periods.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, answer queries, and promote a safe pool environment.
Working Conditions
- Evening and weekend work will be required.
- The role involves working in a warm and humid pool environment.
- The position requires prolonged periods of active observation and vigilance.
