About the role
Join Medirest as a Domestic Assistant and help keep a busy hospital clean, safe, and running. Your work is central to infection control, which protects patients, visitors, and staff every day. This isn’t just any cleaning job: it directly supports the care patients receive.
What you’ll do
- Carry out high and low dusting, mopping, wiping, and scrubbing of surfaces
- Clean wards, side rooms, toilets, showers, public areas, and areas with infection risks
- Empty and maintain rubbish bins, removing waste when bins are full
- Keep all areas clean, presentable, and safe by following hospital policies and procedures
- Use equipment correctly and in line with Health & Safety guidelines
What we’re looking for
- A genuine interest in patient care, with clear communication skills when dealing with patients, visitors, and healthcare staff
- The ability to work under pressure, both independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to shift needs
- Confidence working in a hospital, including around patients who are very unwell or distressed
- Pride in your work, a willingness to learn, and a readiness to go the extra mile
No experience needed. If you’ve never worked as a Domestic Assistant before, that’s fine. Attitude matters more to us than a CV.
