About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and caring Laundry Assistant to join our team at Chasewater Mews. You will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and dignified environment for our residents by ensuring all clothing, bedding, and care home linen are clean, well-presented, and properly stored.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, sort, wash, dry, iron, and fold residents’ clothing and care home linen
- Label and return residents’ items to the correct rooms
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the laundry area
- Operate laundry equipment safely and report faults promptly
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times
- Safely use cleaning and laundry chemicals according to COSHH guidelines
- Support care and housekeeping staff to meet residents’ needs
- Respect residents’ privacy, dignity, and personal belongings
- Dispose of waste appropriately and assist with general housekeeping tasks as needed
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Caring, reliable, and conscientious approach

- Understanding of hygiene and cleanliness standards
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a laundry, housekeeping, or care environment
- Knowledge of infection control procedures
