About the Role
Bernard Berger Ltd, an independent off-licence retailer in Oldham, is seeking a motivated and experienced Shop Supervisor to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills and a passion for retail and customer service. You will play a key role in supporting daily store operations and ensuring an excellent shopping experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Shop Manager and lead the store in their absence
- Recruit, train, and supervise staff, including conducting inductions
- Drive sales performance and help achieve store targets
- Manage stock control, replenishment, and inventory accuracy
- Maintain high standards of store presentation and cleanliness
- Oversee front-of-store operations and customer service
- Handle cash transactions and ensure proper money handling procedures
- Organise staff schedules and manage daily priorities
- Ensure displays are attractive, organised, and fully stocked
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in retail, supervision, or management
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
Qualifications
- GCSE (or equivalent) preferred
- Driving licence preferred
