About the Role
Almond Valley Care Home is a modern 66-bed facility in Livingston offering residential, nursing, dementia, and respite care. We provide a supportive and welcoming environment where staff can develop their skills while delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
As a Laundry Assistant, you will help ensure that residents’ clothing and linen are cleaned, organised, and returned to them with care and accuracy. Your work plays an important role in supporting residents’ comfort, dignity, and wellbeing.
You will be responsible for washing, drying, ironing, and correctly labelling items, while maintaining a clean and well-organised laundry area. You will also follow all health, safety, and infection control procedures to ensure a safe and efficient service.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash, dry, and iron clothing and linen to a high standard
- Ensure all items are correctly labelled and returned to the right residents
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the laundry area
- Follow infection control and health & safety guidelines
- Work efficiently as part of a team or independently as required
What We’re Looking For
- Positive, reliable attitude
- Good attention to detail and organisation skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Good communication skills
- Awareness of hygiene and infection control (preferred but not essential)
- Previous experience is helpful but not required
