Amey is seeking a reliable and motivated Cleaner to join the facilities management team at HMP Manchester. This part-time position offers flexible daytime working hours, making it ideal for those balancing school hours, childcare, or other personal commitments. Your exact shift pattern will be agreed with the Facilities Manager.
About the Role
As a Cleaner, you will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the prison. Your work will support the day-to-day operation of one of Manchester’s key public service facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean designated areas to a consistently high standard.
- Maintain a safe, tidy, and hygienic environment.
- Monitor cleaning supplies and report or order stock when required.
- Safely operate cleaning equipment and machinery following training.
- Deliver excellent service while working as part of the facilities team.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous cleaning experience in commercial or large public buildings.
- Knowledge of safe handling and use of cleaning products and equipment.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- A positive attitude with strong teamwork skills.
- Comfortable working within a secure prison environment.

Security Requirements
This position is subject to Prison Security Clearance, including a Standard DBS check and a Counter Terrorism Check (CTC). Amey will guide and support successful candidates through the clearance process.
