About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking School Cleaner to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
You will be responsible for cleaning classrooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, and other school facilities while following required health, safety, and hygiene standards.
A valid Enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors
- Dust and clean desks, tables, chairs, and other surfaces
- Clean and sanitise toilets, sinks, and restroom areas
- Empty bins and dispose of waste safely
- Replenish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and other supplies
- Clean windows, doors, mirrors, and glass surfaces
- Maintain classrooms, staff rooms, offices, corridors, and communal areas
- Report maintenance problems, hazards, or damaged equipment
- Safely use, store, and handle cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Follow school health and safety and infection-control procedures
- Secure rooms and buildings when required
- Assist with deep cleaning during school holidays or special events
Requirements
- Previous cleaning experience is desirable
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment, products, and procedures
- Good attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
- Good organisation and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of health and safety requirements
- Physically able to stand, bend, lift, and carry out cleaning duties
- Enhanced DBS clearance required
Previous cleaning or janitorial experience of around one year is preferred.
