About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Afternoon School Cleaner to join a friendly school community in Croydon.
You will help maintain a clean, hygienic and safe environment for students, teachers, staff and visitors. The role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work and can manage cleaning duties efficiently during afternoon hours.
Key Duties
- Clean classrooms, corridors, toilets, cafeterias and communal areas
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust and disinfect surfaces
- Empty bins and dispose of waste correctly
- Restock cleaning materials and maintain equipment
- Follow health and safety and cleaning procedures
- Report maintenance problems or potential hazards
- Keep cleaning records up to date
Working Pattern
- 3:00pm – 6:15pm
- 16.25 hours per week
- 39 weeks during term time
- Plus 4 weeks of holiday-time cleaning
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous commercial or school cleaning experience (preferred)
- Good attention to detail
- Reliable and punctual approach
- Good time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of cleaning products, equipment and safety procedures
- Ability to carry out physical cleaning tasks, including standing, bending and lifting
