🧾 Job Overview:
As the Assistant Shop Manager, you’ll support the day-to-day running of the Surbiton retail store. This includes driving sales, inspiring volunteers, managing stock, and creating engaging shop displays. When the Shop Manager is away, you’ll take full responsibility for the store.
This is a hands-on, creative, and fulfilling role — perfect for someone who loves people, fashion, community engagement, and retail operations.
✅ Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Shop Manager with all aspects of retail operations
- Lead, recruit, and motivate a team of volunteers
- Process donations, rotate stock, and ensure high visual merchandising standards
- Deliver excellent customer service and represent Scope’s values
- Take charge of the shop in the manager’s absence
- Help achieve sales targets and grow the store’s local impact
👤 What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in retail, charity shops, or customer service
- Great leadership and people skills
- Strong customer focus and communication ability
- Good IT and admin skills
- A passion for visual merchandising and shop presentation
- A commitment to Scope’s mission of disability equality

🕒 Working Hours:
This is a 21-hour-per-week position. Scope shops are open 7 days a week, so flexibility to work some weekends and bank holidays is required as part of a rota-based schedule.
