Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (Live-Out)
Pay: £16–£22 per hour
Hours: 6–8 hours/day, Monday to Friday (occasional flexibility for evenings/weekends)
About the Role
We are looking for a caring and organised Housekeeper/Nanny to join a private household with 2 adults and 2 children (13G, 11B). This dual role combines professional housekeeping responsibilities with attentive childcare, ensuring the home runs smoothly and the children’s daily routines and wellbeing are supported.
Key Responsibilities
Childcare Duties
- Provide nurturing, age-appropriate care for the children
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks
- Support homework, reading, and creative activities
- Plan indoor and outdoor activities for development and learning
- Accompany children to school, appointments, and activities
- Maintain tidy children’s rooms, play areas, and belongings
- Communicate with parents regarding routines and wellbeing
- Follow family guidelines on discipline and manners
Housekeeping Duties
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming home
- Perform daily cleaning, vacuuming, and dusting
- Manage laundry, ironing, and wardrobe organisation
- Change bed linens and maintain fresh bedrooms
- Organise cupboards, pantries, and storage areas
- Restock household supplies and report maintenance needs
- Assist with meal preparation when required
- Keep kitchen, bathrooms, and children’s spaces hygienic

Qualifications & Experience
- 3–5 years’ experience in a similar Housekeeper/Nanny or private household role
- Enhanced DBS check (mandatory)
- Paediatric First Aid preferred
- Driving licence preferred for school runs
- References from previous private families
- Childcare training (CACHE, Norland, Montessori) advantageous
