Job Overview
We are looking for a reliable and organised Laundry Assistant to support the laundry operations and ensure all clients receive clean, well-maintained clothing and linens. The role involves managing laundry processes, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring items are returned to clients in excellent condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily laundry operations to ensure an efficient workflow and prevent backlogs
- Sort and organise laundry bundles for washing and drying
- Ensure washing machines and dryers are loaded and unloaded properly
- Maintain an adequate supply of detergent and fabric conditioner
- Clean and maintain laundry equipment, including daily removal of lint from dryers
- Report any equipment faults or issues to the Supervisor
- Ensure correct use of laundry bags, particularly for soiled or infectious linen
- Label and organise clients’ clothing correctly
- Place laundered items in designated storage areas and distribute them to clients’ rooms
- Keep the laundry room clean, hygienic, and well-organised
- Maintain tidy wardrobes for clients and iron clothes when required
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain high hygiene standards
- Reliable and responsible with a proactive work attitude
- Previous laundry or housekeeping experience is beneficial but not essential
