About the Role
We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Shop Assistant to join our growing independent business. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced retail environment where you’ll play an important role in delivering outstanding customer service, preparing fresh products, and ensuring the shop is presented to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver excellent customer service by assisting customers with product enquiries and purchases.
- Prepare and replenish shop stock, including breakfast items, rolls, and other fresh food products.
- Serve customers efficiently while maintaining a welcoming and professional attitude.
- Keep the shop clean, organised, and well presented throughout the day.
- Follow food hygiene and health & safety procedures.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in hospitality, retail, or a similar customer-facing role (preferred but not essential).
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
- A positive attitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
