About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Domestic Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play an important part in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Your work will directly contribute to the comfort and wellbeing of those in our care.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning & Hygiene
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in residents’ rooms and shared areas
- Follow daily cleaning schedules and infection control procedures
- Use and store cleaning products safely and correctly
Resident Support
- Respect residents’ privacy, dignity, and personal space
- Help create a warm and homely environment
- Assist with laundry services, ensuring clothing and linens are clean and well maintained
Health & Safety
- Report hazards or maintenance issues promptly
- Follow health, safety, and infection control guidelines
- Use products responsibly to reduce environmental impact
Teamwork
- Work collaboratively with care staff, kitchen teams, and management
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues
- Contribute to a positive and supportive workplace culture
Requirements
Experience & Knowledge
- Previous cleaning experience preferred (care home or healthcare setting is an advantage)
- Basic understanding of hygiene and infection control practices
- Willingness to undertake training and develop skills
