London | Full-time | Pay: not stated
The role
The Peninsula London is looking for a skilled Dry Cleaner / Presser to join the laundry department, reporting to the Wardrobe Supervisor. You’ll look after hotel linen and the laundry of our guests, residents and colleagues, working with our in-house team and external providers. Dry cleaning and pressing here is technical work that rewards close attention to detail and a good knowledge of fabrics.
What you’ll do
- Coordinate hotel linen, guest, residents’ and staff laundry with internal and external providers, following up on quality, discrepancies and defects
- Carry out dry cleaning and, when needed, pressing, always with timely follow-up
- Manage wash cycles and dry cleaning programmes, and flag problems such as discoloration, changes in fabric feel or handling errors to management
- Keep the laundry clean and clear down the machines before the end of each shift
- Raise engineering job orders for any dry cleaning or pressing machine faults
- Log lost and found items from guest or staff laundry and pass them to security
What we’re looking for
- At least 1 year of proven experience in laundry operations, including pressing and dry cleaning
- A real appreciation of luxury hotel service and excellent communication skills
- Strong time management and organisation
- Adaptability and a positive attitude
- Calm under pressure
Why join us
- A role in our high-profile flagship London hotel
- Market-leading pay, service charge and attractive benefits
- A place in an award-winning group, alongside a highly experienced team
We want everyone to feel they belong, and our guests and colleagues to receive attentive, personal service. Send us your CV and we’ll contact suitable candidates directly.
Points to check before posting:
- Pay isn’t listed. Adding a figure or range will usually improve applications.
- “Full-time” is my assumption, as the original doesn’t give hours or shift patterns, so add them if you can.
- The original says the role will “support the laundry operations” but never says which shifts or days apply, which matters for a hotel.
