Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Café Assistant to support our barista and front-of-house team in daily operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and delivering excellent customer service.
You will play a key role in food preparation, service efficiency, and maintaining high cleanliness standards across the café.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver friendly and professional customer service at all times
- Take customer orders and process payments using the EPOS system
- Assist the barista with basic drink preparation when required
- Prepare and heat pre-made sandwiches to order
- Assemble simple food items such as sandwiches, toasties, and desserts
- Ensure food presentation, portion control, and labelling meet standards
- Serve food and drinks to customers efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations
- Complete daily cleaning tasks across front and back of house
- Follow food safety procedures, including temperature checks
- Assist with stock management, deliveries, and FIFO stock rotation
- Report any maintenance or food safety concerns promptly
- Support the team with prep, cleaning, and restocking during quieter periods
Marketing & Brand Expectations
- Willingness to wear a GoPro or similar device during selected shifts
- Comfortable appearing in behind-the-scenes marketing content
- Maintain professionalism while being recorded
- Represent the café brand positively at all times
Requirements
- Friendly, positive, and customer-oriented attitude
- Strong organisational and cleanliness standards
- Willingness to learn café systems and food preparation
- Right to work in the UK
- Willing to complete food safety training if required
- Availability for occasional weekend shifts
- Agreement to company filming/content policies
Working Hours
- Monday & Friday: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Additional weekday or weekend shifts may be available to cover staff absences
