About the Role
Grosvenor Road Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant Level 2 to join its dedicated team. This role is initially offered as a one-year fixed-term contract to provide one-to-one support for a Reception-aged child with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Subject to funding, the position may continue beyond the initial contract.
Working under the guidance of the Class Teacher and SENDCo, you will help create a positive, inclusive learning environment that enables every child to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support for a Reception pupil with Special Educational Needs.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging learning activities.
- Support children’s academic, social, and emotional development.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENDCo, and parents where appropriate.
- Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
- Experience working with children, preferably those with Special Educational Needs.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Flexible, reliable, and committed to teamwork.
- A caring and positive attitude towards supporting children’s learning.
- NVQ qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
- Willingness to undertake training as required.
