About the Role
We’re looking for a motivated and customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our busy charity retail store in Hyde.
This is more than a standard retail role—you’ll be part of a fast-paced, community-driven environment where every day is different. You’ll help deliver excellent customer service while supporting our mission to raise funds and reduce waste through the reuse and resale of donated goods.
As part of the team, you’ll play a key role in making the store a welcoming and well-organised space for customers and volunteers.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering outstanding customer service and engaging with shoppers
- Operating the till and handling customer transactions
- Sorting, organising, and creatively displaying donated stock to maximise sales
- Supporting the processing of donations and managing high volumes of stock
- Working with volunteers and guiding activity on the shop floor
- Assisting with online sales through coordination with the e-commerce team
- Acting as a Keyholder when required, helping to open or close the store and keep operations running smoothly
About You
We’re not looking for extensive retail experience—just the right attitude.
You will ideally be:
- Friendly, confident, and passionate about great customer service
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-moving environment
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Organised with strong attention to detail
- Willing to support and guide volunteers
- Comfortable using basic technology (tills, email, PC, smartphone)
- Physically able to handle stock and donation bags
