About the Role
Ark Oval Primary Academy is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team.
You will work closely with teachers, pupils, parents, and the SENCO to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment. You will help pupils make strong academic progress, develop their confidence, and become increasingly independent learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with their learning through targeted programmes and interventions
- Work with pupils on a 1-to-1 and small-group basis
- Plan and deliver booster and intervention sessions
- Support children with SEND and EAL needs
- Help develop and adapt learning resources
- Contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Monitor, record, and provide feedback on pupil progress
- Support whole-class teaching and provide teacher cover when required
- Assist with behaviour management and promote positive learning
- Encourage inclusion, teamwork, independence, and confidence
- Support pupils in areas such as the library and computer lab
- Supervise pupils during breaks, lunchtime, trips, and other school activities
- Promote the safety, wellbeing, and welfare of all pupils
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals
